New Projects

A recent development on the 40 credit module has allowed those who wish to, to take on an additional 3 briefs and not produce another essay. So the running total would be 4 projects. In this way, it's like each project is worth 10 credits, rather then having one massive project. I'm already well under way for the 1st project and over the course of the next few weeks, should have close to if not the final ideas/concepts. As for the others, here are their blog links

London 2011

I recently went on a trip with Salford University to London to see the 4 Designers conference and visited two design studios, Elmwood and YCN. I also saw the design museum, which was a lot of fun. It was very inspiring to see lot's of designers opinions and takes on the design industry, their approaches to their work and to see two agencies first hand was very welcome. I've attached a few photos from my trip.

New projects incoming

As the title says, I've got new projects coming up. I've been given my brief for my computing unit, this one is on web design. I suppose I should also let you guys know how well i've done with my marks, but I haven't been given them all just yet.

Extended Advertising, Illustration and Type/Editorial - Distinction -
Personal Project - Merit +
Extended Computing A - Pass + (fell short of a merit by a smidge)
Business Comms Presentation - Merit
Business Comms Report - Distinction
Business Comms overall grade: Distinction
Teamworking Project - Merit +

I'm pleased with what I have achieved but I realise I could have tried just that much harder in the animation unit (Extended Computing A). In the future, when faced with projects where I don't understand certain technical things, I should afford myself more time to refine what I create.

I'm back!

Well, this blog has now been marked and so I shall now resume updating. Expect to see what i'm up to in regards to briefs, side projects, what inspires me, might even do a tutorial or two. But for now this shall do. More updates soon!

Farewell....for now

Well, this is it. I am almost missing it already, i've had a lot of fun these past 10 weeks getting really stuck in to designing my own personal logo, an illustration for MediaCityUK and of course, the two DPS and advertisement.

I want to continue using this blog as a platform for my future creative work, i've become really involved in this whole blogging business.

I feel like I could have done a bit better in places, mainly time management. A few times I would leave a lot until 1-2 days before. Just makes me wonder what my work might be like if I had instead spent more time on this but to be fair, I did have a lot of Uni work to juggle. Ah well, you live and learn.

Final submission tomorow. Looking forward to the feedback tbh :)
